Llama Nails A-Z Challenge - C is for Croc Effect

The A-Z challenge is hosted by Llama Nails on Facebook. Llama Nails is a group of nail enthusiasts that share their love of polish, stamping and nail art in a fun, creative, and non-dramatic atmosphere. Join them! All are welcome! The only rule we have is no drama, save it for the llama!

Week 3 is C and I've decided on Barry M Croc Effect nails.  I got this polish in a swap and haven't really played with it so this is the perfect opportunity.  Shatters & Crackles don't really do it for me, but I love the Croc effect.

I used different base colours, but I think it's more down to how the croc splits as to what looks best.  I applied a generous coat of the 'croc', so here goes with the photos.....

With & without Spectraflair top coat, don't cha just love it!!

 Colours used before the 'Croc'

Yep, I deffo prefer Croc effect out of all the shatters & crackles

Llama Nails A-Z Challenge - B is for Blue Furry Nails!

We are on week 2 so that means 'B', this is my first mani for this challenge and I knew instantly what I was going to do.  I'd just received some Blue Furry Nail stickers from KKCenterHK after seeing them on Holographic Hussy's blog.

I used Nails Inc South Molton street as my base, placed the stickers on the tips of my nails and sealed the tips with SV.  That was on Friday, it's now Tuesday and altho' they're a bit grubby they are still well and truely on all my nails!

I got these from KK Centre HK for £2.44 however I have found them cheaper on Ebay for £2.10, not bad as you can get 2 manis out of them.

I Won a Giveaway from The Hungry Asian Part 2

I won two fabulous polishes from the Hungry Asian, Sneeze Breeze which can be seen in my post here and Twenty Ten. Twenty Ten is small square red glitter, fine blue glitter, blue hex glitter and copper glitter in a sheer black base. It reminds me of a very posh granite work surface and my nails sparkled like mad in the sunshine. This polish along with Kae's other gorgeous polishes are available at Etsy and go check out The Hungry Asian Blog too!  I layered two coats over one coat of basic black polish.....

Well the title says it all really, Nails Inc Sumner Place, 3 coats needed as it was very streaky, and then to jazz it up a bit some Essie Golden Nuggets squares on top.

Nails Inc Haymarket and Bundle Monster Plate 221

Do you ever go from one extreme to the other with your manis?  Last mani was cream with pale glitter and now it's turquoise with a bit of leopard print thrown in.  Well here goes, the lovely Nails Inc (my fave) Haymarket, which I then tarted up with the leopard print from Bundle Monster Plate 221, then tipped with black.  Hmmmmm what to do next????

 Bobs doesn't look too impressed

Polish Days - September Theme - Geometry

The theme for Polly Polish's 4th Polish Day is 'Geometry' based on the fact that it's back to school time.  According to Wikipedia Geometry is a branch of mathematics concerned with questions of shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space, righto, glad we got that sorted.  Googled Geometry images and you know how it is on Google, you go from one thing to another and I ended up with Geometric Images.  I'm not very artistic so decided the best way forward was to make my own water decals.

So here's my interpretation of 'Geometry' using my home made water decals.

This is the 'googled' Geometric Image I found, as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one and would be great as water decals

Printed two copies of the image onto the special water decal paper

Cut out some nail shapes

Painted a coat of top coat to seal the image

Base colour used L'Oreal Calypso Blue (277) a very sheer pearlised turquoise, one coat

Et Voila!

My water decal technique needs improvement, but overall I'm pretty pleased with the result.  If you want to see what other Bloggers did check out the links below, enjoy x

NOTD - Nails Inc Colville Mews & China Glaze Snow Globe

Woke up this morning and knew I wanted to have pale glittery nails.  I received Nails Inc Colville Mews as my VIP gift when I signed up at Nails Inc, and bought China Glaze Snow Globe from my friend Samanya on Facebook.  I love this combo, CG Snow Globe is a cross between a glitter and a flakie and looks pretty good over any colour.  Well chuffed x

Here's 2 coats of NI Colville Mews on its own

And topped with CG Snow Globe
