Avon Color Trend Lipstix - Nude Flash & Rose Kissed

I recently purchased 2 Avon Color Trend Lipstix when they were on offer at £1.75 each in C8 Outlet booklet.  Lipstick bullet samples aren’t available for any of the Color Trend range, so I was taking a bit of a chance on what the shades would be like but I knew I could return them if they weren’t suitable.   It would be great if Avon did lippy bullet samples for the Color Trend collection, do you agree?

The applicator tube is long and slim, the lip product is larger than a lip liner but smaller than a traditional lipstick.  I can’t find the size or weight of the product on the packaging or the applicator, therefore I'm not sure how much of the product is in the tube.  The Lipstix are non-retractable, which means once you’ve twisted the product up, you can’t twist it back down, otherwise I’d have twisted it full up to show you. If anyone knows how much product is within the tube, please share.

Onto the shades.  First up Nude Flash, a terracotta frosted shade

Rose Kissed is a matte medium tone pink

The shades lasted very well, I found the formulation a little tacky and dry, but that’s just an observation, not a criticism, I’d certainly buy again if the shade was right.

Avon Liquid Eyeliner Pens

I needed a new liquid eyeliner pen, so it was an ideal opportunity to get one from Avon as I'm an Avon Lady.

Avon has two liquid eyeliners pens, one from the True Colour range and one from the Mark range. But which to choose? In the brochure the Mark liquid eyeliner pen was described as having a slanted tip to create thick and thin lines, however, the brochure picture didn’t show the tip as being slanted, so I thought there’s only one way to find out and that’s to get both of them. So I did.

 Indeed, the Mark liquid eyeliner pen does have a slanted tip, the True Colour pen has a traditional tip.

 

I applied the eyeliners on top of my eyeshadow. I applied mascara, added a bit more eyeshadow and applied a second coat of eyeliner for definition. They both applied and lasted equally well.

 The pen sticks are identical the only difference is the nib. Also, the True Colour eyeliner has the ‘use within 3 months of opening’ symbol whereas the Mark one says ‘6 months of opening’. The ingredients are the same.

Double Colour Blusher with Mirror & Brush from Born Pretty Store

I'm getting quite a healthy stash of eyeshadows from Born Pretty Store by using my reward points and therefore getting them for FREE!!  So I've branched out and got a Double Colour Blusher which comes with a mirror and small brush neatly tucked away underneath.  There's several colour combinations available and this is #2 which is a pretty pink and pale peach.  You can use the colours individually or swirl them together with the brush to give a soft rose shade.  This colour really suits my pale winter skin as the only other blusher I have is a bronzer and it's way too dark and orange without having a bit of tan.   The Blusher is a soft power and feels very smooth to the touch, it comes boxed and is a hefty 8g so will last me ages.

I'm starting to get a few cosmetics bits from Born Pretty Store. Here's another eyeshadow set the 8 Colour Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette.  Eight shimmer eyeshadows as follows, left to right, top to bottom: yellow, peach, mid brown, dark brown, taupe, olive, very dark brown almost black and brown with green shimmer.  Very good pigments and applied nicely.  The palette includes a mirror and double ended sponge applicator and comes boxed.  Check out my video below which shows this lovely colours and how they applied to my skin.  The set is available in 9 different combinations and this is set W738.  Currently reduced, super bargain price, you can't go wrong!

8 Colors Shimmer Eyeshadow Makeup Palette Long Lasting Eyeshadow 9 Pattens

Born Pretty Store BB Cream - 45ml SPF 30

I'm a tad confused with the difference between a BB Cream, a CC Cream and good old fashioned foundation.  I do know that BB stands for Beauty Balm and encompasses a foundation, moisturiser & sun screen all in one.  So here's my own personal review on my very first BB Cream which is from Born Pretty Store.  There are 3 shades available and I went for #2 the middle option.  The colour of the product is lighter than I'd usually wear but actually it really compliments my skin tone which is medium with freckles, so maybe I've been using the wrong colour all along!  I also find with my previous foundations that they make my lines look worse/deeper but because of the hydration of the BB Cream my skin looked less wrinkly.   I'm very pleasantly surprised with the BB Cream as I thought it wouldn't be robust enough but I was wrong.  It's hydrating, gives great coverage, applies easily and I haven't observed any adverse reaction to it, so it gets the thumbs up from me.  The box claims to be SPF 30 and it comes in a 45ml tube.  the only downside is that the only English writing is on the front of the tube, the packet and instructions inside the package are in Chinese or Korean.  Check out my YouTube video below.
