Avon Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Nudeitude

Today's review is for Avon Gel Shine Nail Enamel named Nudeitude, a creamy neutral shade.   This super creme shade wasn't transferred over to the new Mark range, however, if you like this soft colour keep your eyes peeled for it in sales leaflets and First Look clearance section for Reps.
Nudeitude is opaque, full coverage with 2 coats.  Great formulation, a nice slim cap which makes it easy to hold and excellent formulation.  Whether your nails are long, medium or short, you'll have a cool smart manicure with this awesome shade.
10ml bottle

I've received confirmation directly from Avon UK that all Avon's nail polishes are 5-Free (free of: Formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).

Dotty Manis - Doticures

Welcome to the latest instalment of easy peasy nail tutorials, this week it's all about the Dots! A doticure is a mani comprising of dots/spots, let your imagination go crazy with this style, there are no rules.

I have a set of dotting tools which I got from Ebay, easily available for £1.  A set usually comprises of 5 double ended tools with varying sizes of ball shaped ends.  However, you don't need to use special dotting tools, you can use anything from a hair grip, toothpick, orange stick, expired ball point pen, a sewing pin, you get my drift.
Before I apply dots, I always test the polish and dotting tool on a piece of paper to see how workable it is, ie consistency of the polish, how much pressure to apply etc. I always do a bit of a test on paper before applying to my nails. Dab a brush load of the polish onto a piece of paper that you want to dot with.  With your dotting tool, dip into the polish which is on the paper and dot onto your nails.  Sometimes you can get more than one dot from the polish on your tool. Dot quite quickly, ie don't hold the tool onto your nail as it'll dry and smudge.  You might need a bit of practice just to get to grips with how to work with the polish and tool but it is very easy and a fairly fast method.
Once you've done all the dots, let them dry before applying top coat.  Applying top coat when the dots are wet will cause them to smear.

Here are the two designs I'm going to show you.

Red & Gold Doticure
Base - Avon True Colour Naked Truth
Dots - Avon Metallic Effects Gold & Avon Nailwear pro+ Grape Goddess

I firstly applied the gold dots along the centre of my nails, then applied the red dots

Blue Doticure
Base - Avon Mark Rain Washed
Dots - All Avon Mark - Just Beachy, So Jelly & Olive-It

I used different sized dotting tools for each colour.  I started off with the largest dotting tool and painted the green dots, then medium in blue, and filled in any gaps with the small in purple

Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamels are currently in C10 (UK) 2 for £6.

Cloud Manicure & How To using Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamels

It's a wonderful fresh morning, the sun is out and there are a few light clouds, let's hope the sun stays out.  Last week we had lots of rain (come on summer!) which brings me onto today's mani - Clouds.
This isn't about painting your nails with fluffy white clouds, it's a term used for creating a scalloped tip, usually 3 colours.  The scallops being the edge of the cloud rather than the whole cloud.  It's also a great method for reviving an old mani when the tips have chipped or worn.  No special tools or equipment needed.
With your nails already painted your base colour, apply the 2nd colour in 3 strokes, it's just the same as painting a coat of polish except for starting half way down your nail with each stroke lower than the previous.
Wait for the 2nd colour to dry and repeat with a 3rd colour and seal with top coat.

The colours I used are all from the Mark Gel Shine range, Sweet Pea, Just Beachy & Sapphired Up

Avon True Colour Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamel - Rose Gold

With the Avon True Colour Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamels making an appearance in C10 (UK) at only £3 a pop, I've used this opportunity to share with you the very elegant and ladylike shade Rose Gold, from the collection, a rosy peach with shimmer.
I applied 3 coats to intensify the colour and sealed with top coat.  The bottle & brush are the same as the Mark Gel Shine range of nail enamels, bottle size 10ml.
I've received confirmation directly from Avon UK that all Avon's nail polishes are 5-Free (free of: Formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).
To the pics.......

When I first saw the shade it reminded me of Dazzle Pink from the Mark Gel Shine range, but if you have a look at the two together, they are quite different, but similar with their shimmer frosting.  Rose Gold has a rosy hue, whereas Dazzle Pink is more peach.
I've got a healthy collection of the Mark Gel Shine range, I think the same is going to happen with the Avon True Colour Nailwear Pro+ range!   Ooopsy!
At £3 a bottle you really can't go wrong, great quality and super formulation.
