Avon Color Trend Fashion Nail Enamel - Candy Pink & Pout

Today I'm reviewing Avon Color Trend Fashion Nail Enamels in Candy Pink & Pout.
From Brochure 12 in the UK, Avon boasts new and improved shades, packaging & formula for their basic yet fashionable Color Trend range.  There will be 12 hot shades with a new cool sky blue named Bliss.

Candy Pink is a sweet sugar mice pink, with Pout being a creamy latte shade.  I applied 3 coats for full coverage, my thumb nail is particularly ridged and needed 3 coats (note to self, buy Avon Ridge filler!).  The formulation and brush are good, however, I would say the Mark Gel Shine range is more pigmented, hence needing 3 coats on both shades.
The Color Trend Fashion nail enamels have a glossy finish, all photos are without top coat, and are chip resistant. They come in bright pink & orange packaging and are 8ml.  Oh, and did I mention, they are £1.50 through C11 - C13 - grab yourself a bargain, it'll be hard not to!
I've received confirmation directly from Avon UK that all Avon's nail polishes are 5-Free (free of: Formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).

Striped Skittle Mani

Today's mani is using striping tape, which is easily available on Ebay and is inexpensive.  It's a very narrow tape which comes in lots of colours and is usually metallic.  It can be used to decorate your nails or in this instance to create a nail art design where you paint over the tape and then remove it to reveal a different colour underneath.

First of all, I painted my nails in an assortment of colours all from Avon, from thumb to pinky we have Sapphired Up, Emerald City, Daysie, Orange You Crazy & Parfait Pink.  I let my nails dry for a good few hours before applying the tape.
I applied 3 strips to my nails
And then painted over the top with Avon Charcoal Smoke.
I immediately removed the tape with tweezers and removed them in the reverse order that I applied them on. This is because the tape is layered on top of itself, you need to remove the last one you applied first to prevent pulling on the others. I removed the tape from the top of my nail down to the base. I also did one nail at a time as you don't want the top nail polish to dry as it will drag when you remove the tape.
I let the top colour dry a little before applying a top coat to prevent smearing.

I've received confirmation directly from Avon UK that all Avon's nail polishes are 5-Free (free of: Formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).

Blue & Silver nails using Avon Just Beachy & Platinum Petal

It's June, it's summer and....it's raining - oh hang on we are in the UK - lol!  And that's why we have lush green countryside.

Some of you will be jetting off on your summer holibobs and some of you might have already been.  Sunbathing under palm trees, laying on the sand with the sound of the waves tumbling on the beach, book in one hand, cocktail in the other!

Or, if like me you'll have a staycation this year but that doesn't stop you from painting your nails and today I'm going to share with you a beautiful blue shade from the Mark Gel Shine range named Just Beachy.  It's like dipping your nails into the ocean or reaching up to a clear blue sky.  Just Beachy is a bright bold blue, dare to wear on your toes?
As with all Mark Gel Shine nail enamels it great formulation, well pigmented, glossy formulation, a nice slim cap to make it easy to hold & apply, 10ml bottle.

After a few days, I revived my Just Beachy nails with pointed silver tips using Avon Metallic Platinum Petal and I'm really pleased with the combo.
I've received confirmation directly from Avon UK that all Avon's nail polishes are 5-Free (free of: Formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).

Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Olive-It with nail gems

What a lovely sunny Saturday morning it is, I hope it's a lovely sunny weekend for all of you 🌞
Today's easy peasy lemon squeezy nail tutorial is applying gems to your nails, and in this sunny weather, they are going to be bling blingtastic!
There are a plethora of nail gems in various shapes, size & colour, I'm using a mixed coloured wheel of 2mm round gems which are readily available on Ebay for £1 and are flat backed.  The wheel lid has an open section which you turn round to the gems you want to access, a bit like a tub of salt.  I poured out navy, green & turquoise coloured gems onto a piece of paper and used a damp orange stick dipped in water to pick up the gems.

I painted two coats of Avon Mark Gel Shine Olive-It.  I picked up the gems one at a time and placed on my nails while my top coat was still wet, once they were all in place I gently pressed them down onto the semi set polish.  Don't worry if the nail polish crinkles a little, when you apply your next top coat to seal the gems it will smooth out most of the wrinkles.  Nail glue can be used as a more secure option, but I find for a night out, applying and sealing with top coat is sufficient.
