Avon Metallic Effect Nail Enamel - Arctic Steel

I missed out on the Models Own half price offer when they launched their chrome collection - yeah I must have been  under a rock!  So when I received an out of the blue email from my Avon lady with her online brochure, I had a little sneaky peak and there I saw Avon Metallics in the sale brochure for £1.75.  So Arctic Steel Metallic Effect Nail Enamel popped into my basket along with some bubbly bath.  Now I wish I'd bought all the shades!  Super dooper icy blue metallic effect and jolly fab for stamping too!   The Avon Lady only came an hour ago, it's on, stamped, photo'd and blogged!  12 ml bottle.

Opportunity Knocks is a stunning turquoise shimmer which sparkles in the sunshine and under certain lighting.  It reminds me of Quality Street sweet wrappers, in a nice way of course, a coloured cellophane wrapped around a foil.  My camera appears to make the colour of the lacquer blue when it's actually a deep turquoise - tantalising and glistening.  This is 3 coats on my nails and top coat, seriously gorgeous.  It comes in a huge 15ml bottle and is available on the All That Jazz website which has an awesome range of lacquers in different finishes (all 5-free and cruelty free) as well as manicure & pedicure products which include Bee Bars in mouth watering scents.

3D Bunnies from Charlies Nail Art

The Easter Bunny is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. The "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behaviour at the start of the season of Eastertide.  In legend, the creature carries coloured eggs in his basket, confectionary, and sometimes also toys to the homes of children, and as such shows similarities to Santa Claus, as they both bring gifts to children on the night before their respective holidays.  Thank you Wiki for the info!  Here's a couple more Easter themed manis using 3D Bunnies from Charlies Nail Art.  Whether you celebrate Easter or just love rabbits, these silver tone bunnies are sure to get your mani noticed.  The 10 bunnies are flat backed which I applied with wet top coat and are re-usable.

3D Nail Art Easter Eggs from Charlies Nail Art

This year is flying and Easter will be here before you know it!  Which means Easter Manis!  I created two designs which are eggstra special (sorry, couldn't resist!) using 3D Easter Egg nail gems from from Charlies Nail Art.  There are 10 stripy eggs in the pack in blue, green, pink & yellow.  My first mani is using the pink eggs combined with a water marble and silver nails. My second mani is copying the design of the eggs, yellow to orange gradient stripes over a white background.  The eggs are flat backed and I applied them to my wet top coated nails.  They are reusable and if you don't want to wear them on your nails you can decorate lots of other things with them.

Sparkly Nails Squiggle Vinyl Nail Stencils

These are my first official vinyl strips.  I've used stencils before and paper and foil strips but not vinyl ones so I'm really excited to be using them!  These are the Squiggle Vinyl nail stencils from Sparkly Nails who have just started to stock them - hooruh!  I've got a selection of the vinyls to try and the squiggles looked the most fun.  I applied them over a pale cream glitter and sponged with a dark pink and blue shimmer gradient.  The best bit is removing the vinyls after you've painted over them, very satisfying.  I used the stencils horizontally & vertically which is a great combo.  There are 57 squiggle vinyls per pack and at only £1.25 are a bargain.  Check out my little step by step tutorial below.
